The new Odoo 19 version focusses on artificial intelligence. AI is available everywhere in Odoo and adapts to the respective context of daily work.
Innovations and optimisations are also expected in the Sales, Services, Finance, Logistics, HR Management, Website, SEO and eCommerce modules. The update also includes new end-to-end workflows with sector-specific applications for various industries. These open up completely new dimensions of process automation for companies.
A particular highlight is the new ESG app in Odoo 19, which enables legally compliant sustainability reporting and is a key innovation for companies in Europe that are subject to increasingly strict reporting obligations.
The official release of Odoo 19 will take place from 18 to 20 September 2025 at the Odoo Experience in Brussels. We received this sneak peek first-hand at the Odoo Partner Day 2025. Below we have summarised the most important news for companies in Switzerland, Germany and Austria. This article will be updated on an ongoing basis.
Artificial intelligence seamlessly integrated into Odoo
Odoo 19 takes artificial intelligence to a whole new level - it can be used flexibly across all Odoo apps and exactly where it is needed. Odoo does not rely exclusively on a single provider such as ChatGPT, but creates a flexible basis that can be adapted to other AI models if required - for maximum independence and future-proofing.
AI assistant in all apps
Integrated into all applications, the assistant supports users in all tasks. What we particularly like is that the so-called AI agents in the form of fields can be set up, customised and added to very easily in Odoo Studio or directly in your own settings. Odoo also learns independently and continuously improves.
Data processing with artificial intelligence
The AI analyses existing information, takes on tasks independently or automatically assigns them to the right people based on predefined rules and responsibilities. Examples:
- Automatic assignment of leads or support tickets based on content, according to predefined assignments in the same context, previous conversations, customer history or other contextual information.
- Intelligent, context-related entry of sales orders.
- Process texts: The AI helps with writing, summarising, improving or translating texts.
AI-controlled search
Thanks to semantic search, Odoo delivers context-related, precise and optimised results instead of just keyword matching. Linking documentation or databases with the AI agent also allows users to query specific information and obtain answers. Examples:
- A website agent becomes an interactive source of knowledge for customers and answers questions in a live chat, guides them through processes such as product selection or provides dynamic forms for support tickets or error messages.
- Support in completing applications with step-by-step assistance.
User interface and usability
The new version comes with numerous optimisations in the areas of design and usability, such as the modernised Kanban design in a reduced layout for more clarity and simple management and organisation of tasks in real time.
Updated Gantt functions
Gantt view with Smart Zoom for automatic adjustment depending on the zoom level. An info window is displayed for commands such as drag & drop or resize. Empty columns are also automatically collapsed.
Optimised mobile version
Odoo 19 is even more powerful on mobile devices with new layout options, clear menus and the option to save filters and views as favourites.
Kalender
In der Kalenderansicht können Datensätze durch Drag & Drop direkt im Kalender geplant oder durch Klicken auf eine Zelle erstellt werden.

For companies in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, the new Odoo version offers updated and completely new legally compliant and forward-looking extensions that are tailored to the specific requirements of the DACH region.
New ESG module for sustainability reporting with Odoo
With the new ESG module, Odoo helps companies in Germany, Austria and Switzerland to achieve their sustainability goals and fulfil the requirements of the EU CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive).
Odoo 19 supports the calculation of CO2 emissions directly on the basis of expenditure.
The data extracted from this is compared with the predefined KPIs and the company's actual emissions.
The result is a precise and detailed CO2 report.
Flexible human resources management
Odoo has been Swissdec-certified in the standard since version 17. Certification is also expected for Odoo 19.
Overtime is easier to manage with new rules and calculation logic. For example, work assignments can be recorded based on duration instead of the ‘from_to’ date. Different remuneration rates can also be stored and payments can be deducted directly from the time credit
Absences are displayed in a new, clear UI and employees receive a clear overview of holiday requests including overlapping absence periods for greater transparency. Public holidays are already recorded during the initial database creation.
Finance and accounting more mobile, more secure, more intelligent
New in Odoo 19 is a localised chart of accounts with detailed income and expense accounts as well as a full text search. Odoo also automatically calculates tax details including possible deductions.
The declaration of taxes is simplified with deadlines for the obligation to pay and validation checks. Adjustments can be easily configured for the respective localisation.
Bank reconciliations are improved and can be carried out directly via smartphone.
The following innovations have also been announced:
- Invoicing with improved sending of invoices, PEPPOL optimisations, tracking of invoices and access to older reports.
- Optimisation of wizard for bank connection and expansion of bank synchronisation, payment triggers with Ponto, improvements in SEPA workflow.
- Reports: Updates in report creation and PDF design as well as for annual financial statements, customer billing and external audits.
New Odoo expense card
Odoo initiates a physical and digital Odoo company card for employees! With this card, all expenses are automatically recorded, assigned to the correct booking accounts and digitally documented. Paper receipts are no longer necessary and line managers can quickly and easily check and authorise expenses in the system.
UX and UI boost for website
Onboarding when creating a website is fundamentally improved: a wider selection of websites is available and templates can be customised and reused.
The blogs have been given a fresh layout and new functions, extended portal customisations and the creation of events as independent pages are now possible. A floating toolbar makes text editing even easier and optimised breadcrumbs ensure better navigation.
There are also 19 new snippets for the website in Odoo and the migration to OWL ensures better loading times and an optimised user experience.

These new functions ensure a clear and professional quotation structure, especially for complex projects.

In product combinations, optional products are displayed more clearly and individual products can be selected more easily.
- Rental: The definition of standard rental times with start and end times, the simple transfer of rental items and the definition of price list rules are new. In addition, work calendars can be synchronised to take pick-up and return days/times into account.

New dashboards and intelligent suggestions: The revised dashboards provide a better overview and faster processes. Sales orders can now be imported directly and intelligent suggestions support users in planning the next steps.
Define serial numbers individually for each product: From now on, the assignment of serial numbers can be set on a product-specific basis - for more control and traceability.

This means that even complex contracts can be bundled and forwarded to different people for signature in a structured and traceable manner.
New field types have also been introduced: Checkboxes, dropdowns and formatable text fields make the design of documents even more flexible. All elements can be customized - depending on the type and requirements of the document.
More efficient communication with Discuss and Live Chat in Odoo 19
Odoo 19 brings new functions for faster, more targeted team communication - both internally and externally.
Roles in Chatter and intelligent forwarding by bot
Roles can now be mentioned directly in Chatter - such as @sales - to notify all relevant team members in a targeted manner. The new intelligent bot automatically recognizes topics and forwards chat to the appropriate specialist. At the same time, a lead can be created and also assigned directly - for a seamless transition from conversation to process.
More convenience in internal communication
Odoo 19 improves internal communication with emoji shortcuts, push notifications for calls and better integration with vacation planning.
Live chat: Automated data transfer and better control
Support chats can be forwarded in a more targeted manner - depending on responsibilities or availability. Rights can be assigned in a more differentiated way and parallel chats per agent can be limited. Chat content and attachments are automatically transferred when tickets are created - duplicate entries are a thing of the past.
