Odoo Community
The free open-source version comes with basic features and modules such as CRM, sales, purchase, inventory, invoicing, website and HR. The Odoo Community version is primarily used by individuals and small businesses, and it can be easily downloaded, installed and self-hosted.
Odoo Enterprise
Odoo Enterprise is available as a standard with Odoo Online Hosting and as a custom option with hosting on Odoo.sh or your own hosting. Compared to Odoo Community, Odoo Enterprise offers comprehensive features, customisation options and enhanced technical support. This version is suitable for small and medium-sized enterprises with specific requirements as well as for large companies with complex demands for the digitalization of business processes and data management. With the custom plan, multiple businesses can be managed and third-party apps can be integrated. Furthermore, individual customisations can be easily made with the Odoo Studio app without any programming knowledge.
The costs for Odoo Enterprise vary depending on the chosen plan and the number of users. There are two main plans:
- Standard: Includes all Odoo apps, hosted in the Odoo Online Cloud.
- Custom: Offers additional features such as Odoo Studio, multi-company capabilities, API access and flexible hosting options (Odoo Online, Odoo.sh, On-Premise).
Yes, Odoo is fully multi-tenant capable. The multi-company feature in the custom plan allows for the separate management of multiple legally independent companies or branches within a single Odoo database and the creation of consolidated reports.
Odoo was founded in 2005 under the name "TinyERP" by Fabien Pinckaers. Later, the software was renamed "OpenERP," and finally, in 2014, it became Odoo.
