Odoo Knowledge als Company Wiki: So gelingt die Migration von Confluence zu Odoo

Odoo Knowledge as Company Wiki: Migration from Confluence to Odoo

Companies already using Odoo Business Software - or planning to implement it - should pay special attention to one specific app: Odoo Knowledge. In this article, we'll explain why we moved our own company wiki from Confluence to Odoo Knowledge and how we handled the technical migration.

At braintec, we use Odoo for almost all our business processes. With the release of Odoo Knowledge, we have fully integrated our company knowledge, which was previously organised in Atlassian's Confluence, into our Odoo ecosystem.

The result? Integrated workflows, better transparency and faster operations within a single system architecture. Odoo Knowledge is our reliable foundation for consistent knowledge management across the entire company.

Why we switched from Confluence to Odoo Knowledge

Documentation directly in the workflow

The knowledge articles can be seamlessly linked in Odoo Knowledge to projects, sales orders, tickets or other Odoo apps. This way, the information we need is directly and contextually available to us, without having to open a new tab or switch work environments. One system, one user interface, one global search and real-time content across all modules. Knowledge is no longer an external add-on, but an integral part of our daily operations.

Lower license and admin costs

By replacing Confluence, we save annual licensing fees and administrative effort for managing multiple software stacks.

More efficient onboarding

The onboarding time for our new team members has been shortened, as best practices and process descriptions are directly available in the respective app, along with histories and comments in context.

The technical implementation with our own solution

To make the migration from Confluence to Odoo Knowledge as easy as possible and to ensure full data integrity, we have developed a solution that transfers all existing content from Confluence 1:1 directly into the Odoo Business Software.
