At the Odoo Partner Day in early April 2026, the Product Owners of Odoo provided initial insights into Odoo 20 and the numerous innovations and functional extensions. As we have come to expect from Odoo, the business software will become even smarter, simpler, and more user-friendly with the annual release – with AI that seamlessly integrates into every work step.
The key innovations in Odoo 20 at a glance:
Agentic AI:Odoo 20 transforms AI into a business co-pilot that independently plans and executes complex business processes, while users retain final control. Additionally, the AI is deeply integrated (e.g., Anthropic/Claude in Odoo.sh)
Synergies: With the release of Odoo 20, the Field Service and Planning modules are being merged to streamline operational processes more efficiently.
AI-powered Timesheet Assistant:The new time tracking assistant analyzes digital work efforts and automatically records working hours based on this, assigning them to the appropriate projects.
Inventory:Inventory management can be directly integrated into the product in simple cases, so it does not need to be represented in the inventory app.

- Forms: Field validations, file type restrictions, and linked fields for country/state enhance data quality.
- Appointment: The online appointment booking has been technically and visually revamped. Highlights include optimized UX with real-time availability, direct Microsoft Teams integration, improved capacity management, and a modern frontend with POS floor plan integration for precise seat selection.
CRM & Marketing in Odoo 20
The integration of lead generation and customer care has been strengthened.
Marketing Automation: General overhaul and optimization of functions. In particular, the creation of triggers that enable automated sending of emails, SMS, or WhatsApps.
CRM: Management of multiple pipelines and new plugins for email services as well as improved automatic assignment rules.
Sales: Improvements and new features
Variant management: Editable prices for variants and a simplification of the variant system overall.
Portal: Complete redesign of the sales order portal and optimization of the payment process.

Project management now provides sharper economic indicators.

- Navigation: Project updates and milestones remain accessible through the main menu; you can now switch to the project form view (including improvements such as the customer location map).

Appointment management: Multi-calendar synchronization, workplace visualization, and self-service booking
Appointment management has been expanded for complex requirements in team daily operations.
Management of multiple calendars: The synchronization of multiple Google or Outlook accounts per user is now possible.
Work locations: Locations (home office/office) are synchronized and visualized.
Personal booking pages: Users can create and manage their own booking pages, including flexible availability management through time slots and slot buffering.
Integration: Activities in the calendar are directly linked to records; additionally, time recognition is integrated into event titles.
Odoo Sign: Automation and Integration
The digital signature is getting closer to automated business processes.
Automation: Signature requests can be automated and sent via activities and activity plans.
Response export: The list of signatures can be exported from Odoo including timestamps.

Localization: Support for Itsme in over 30 countries and font support for over 40 additional regions.
Data return: Field values in Odoo records can be automatically updated once a document has been signed.
Odoo Knowledge: Document sharing, group approvals
The management of knowledge modules is significantly more efficient due to dynamic group permissions: Documents and articles are no longer assigned to individuals but to functional groups. This greatly minimizes administrative effort during personnel changes (e.g., department transfers) as access rights are automatically synchronized. A seamlessly integrated signature function completes the process and enables legally secure workflows without media breaks.
