braintec has successfully implemented the financial and payroll processes for Birr IT in Odoo 19 and integrated the solution into the existing IT architecture of the client. The focus is deliberately chosen: standard processes for core areas, a custom integration for company-wide authentication, complete control over operations and data.
Accounting
In accounting, Birr IT consistently relies on the Odoo standard. The chart of accounts, tax logic, journals, and bank reconciliation operate without special solutions and are complemented by the CAMT connection for daily reconciliation with the house bank. This architectural decision ensures low follow-up costs, good maintainability, and smooth upgrades across multiple Odoo versions.
Payroll
The payroll processing is based on the Swissdec-certified Odoo standard and is fully rolled out on Odoo 19. Birr IT consciously chose the version that had just been released at the start of the project. The ELM transmission to social security is guaranteed, the payroll is compliant with the law, and the system went into productive operation without any version backlog. Future functional and security updates can be implemented on the current code base without intermediate migrations.
Sovereignty in operation and authentication
Birr IT does not operate Odoo in the cloud, but in its own dedicated server environment. braintec supported the server configuration and connected Odoo to the company's central user management, so that every login runs through the company's own infrastructure. Control over data, access, and update cycles thus remains with the customer, as does the freedom to scale or relocate the platform at any time without external dependencies.
Since the beginning of 2026, Odoo 19 has been in productive use at Birr IT. With finance, payroll, and authentication, the foundation is in place. In the further course of the project, CRM, sales, project, and helpdesk management will be gradually added. This creates a seamless business platform that meets the demands of an IT company on its own infrastructure while fully covering the operational requirements of a Swiss SME.
